Production Background

From August 1995 to January 1997, Hal and Joanne were
the executive producers and hosts of a 30 minute TV
program airing on the Life Network. This series of
39 shows continues to promote eating well, being active
and feeling good about yourself.
Between July 1988 and December 1995, Hal and Joanne
created and produced their series of 90, ninety second
programs (total - 134) (65 with Participaction - an
organization who's mandate is to promote fitness;
as of December 1992, 50 solely under their trademark
name Body Break, 19 in conjunction with Health Canada's
Vitality Program). It provides specific nutritional,
health an exercise tips to help the viewer with their
sport or daily activity.
In November 1993, Hal and Joanne created and produced
a Video Cookbook. This 45 minute video shows the viewer
how to make 20 low fat, great tasting meals and snacks.
Nutrition and exercise tips are also provided as well
as 20 recipe cards.
In January 1992, Hal and Joanne developed and produced
a home video to heighten the awareness for the benefits
of being active and eating healthier. This 50 minute
video - "The Total Body Program", is for
the Beginner to the Advanced. It provides the 3 keys
to successfully reaching your goals; Stretch &
Strengthen Workout, How to Design your own Aerobic
Program, and Tips on Eating Healthier including Proper
Weight Management.
Completed in March 1992, Hal and Joanne worked with
Prentice-Hall Book Publishers to incorporate Body
Break, the 90 second programs, into schools across
Canada and in the US. Along with a selection of 18
shows, a teacher's guide was developed which included
opportunities for students to work creatively in activities
and projects.
Since October 1991, Hal and Joanne have worked with
Nutridata Software Corporation in the US to develop
the Body Break Diet & Exercise Analyzer. This
software program enables the user to quickly obtain
and tailor nutritional and exercise information to
suit their personal needs and goals.
Over the past 6 years, Hal and Joanne have made over
450 appearances on TV and Radio talk shows. Their
Body Break message and smiling faces have also appeared
in several newspapers across the country.
