You were probably told at one time or another to eat your vegetables well, it's still true. Vegetables and fruit play a key role in maintaining good health. Canada's Food Guide encourages you to eat between 5 to 10 servings of fruits and vegetables every day with an emphasis on vegetables. Eat at least one dark green and one orange vegetable each day. Choose vegetables and fruit prepared with little or no added fat, sugar, or salt, and when possible, have vegetables and fruit more often than juice.
