Jo's Chocolate Cake'

Ingredients
sifted pastry flour 3 cups 750 ml
sugar 1 1/2 cups 375 ml
cocoa powder 1 1/2 cup 375 ml
baking soda 2 1/2 tsp 12 ml
baking powder 1 1/2 tsp 7 ml
salt 1 tsp 5 ml
egg whites 6 6
skim milk 2 1/2 cups 750 ml
corn syrup 2/3 cup 150 ml
cherry pie filling 1/2 can 1/2 can
low fat/calorie whip cream as little as possible as little as possible

Directions
Step 1 Combine the dry ingredients. In another bowl, combine egg whites, skim milk and corn syrup. Add the liquid mixture to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
Step 2 Spray 2 round baking tins with non-stick cooking/baking spray and evenly pour mixture into tins. Bake at 350 F for 30 to 45 minutes or until the toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Step 3 Completely cool. Spread cherry pie filling for the middle layer and cover with whip cream.
